Erik Ingalls is a Canadian multimedia composer who started a lifelong musical journey through a love of electric guitars. Continuing with classical guitar, he took a left turn into electronica, and finally landed on scoring for film and theatre.
Erik designed sound and wrote music for ‘Threshold of Magic: The Death and Life of Tom Thomson’, for Canada’s 150th anniversary; worked with Tiffany Chan and Windsor Dance eXperience to stage a contemporary ballet ‘The Phantom’ in 2011; and provided score and Foley for Paperweight Owl Productions’ film Inertia, directed by Demetre Kalmantis.
2023 and 2024 saw collaboration with Moth Wing Productions’ Angelo Bombelli and Sebastien Gaspar-Woods wherein Erik contributed score and Foley to two films: Within These Walls and Heartworm. The latter taking the Best Horror - International Award at the 2025 Milwaukee Horror Film Festival.
Other works have been Neo-romantic, orchestral, solo guitar, industrial electronic, meditative, synthesized, noisy, and made of wasp sounds.
Now exploring a sci-fi baroque combination, Erik is hunting for new musical expressions and looking forward to collaborating with singer-songwriters on some meditative and expansive songs.
